A Light in the Darkness: Contest Winner

I’m an acute medical nurse and with the pressures of the past few years on myself professionally and personally, I enjoy my escapes. Recently I’ve been on more local adventures and discovering hidden places around where I live. Sometimes this involves abandoned buildings and ruins. It’s interesting because you imagine what it looked like before it’s abandonment and make up stories about who lived there in your mind. Watching nature reclaim its ground by entwining with the buildings is stunning and brings some life back to these forgotten places. To me this symbolises light in the dark perfectly.
